They see me rollin’

I don’t give name inanimate objects often, but when I do, they are a big staple in my everyday life.
Meet Betty, my very first heavy tool.

It’s the tool that makes a workbench a jewelers workbench – and a real multitasker. You can make sheets by rolling the metal on the flat surface of the rolls, or you can make wire, either roud/square or half-round, depending on where you insert the metal.

 

It’s the first step you do getting started, after either melting old metal down or after removing the masking film after purchase. Here’s a litte before and after:
